비상계엄 당시 국민의힘 원내대표였던 추 시장은 계엄 당일 의원총회 소집 장소를 국회→당사→국회→당사로 세 차례 변경해 다수의 국민의힘 의원이 계엄 해제 의결에 참석하지 못하게 한 혐의를 받는다.

지방자치법 등에 따라 금고 이상의 형이 확정될 경우 추 시장은 직을 잃게 된다.
